Poland raises unemployment benefit amounts to up to 2,140 zł per month

From 1 June 2026 Poland increased the amounts paid to registered unemployed workers. Applicants with up to 20 years of contribution history will receive 1,783.90 zł gross per month for the first 90 days and 1,400.90 zł thereafter. Those with more than 20 years of contributions will receive 2,140.68 zł gross for the first 90 days and 1,681.06 zł from the fourth month onward. Eligibility requires registration with the local labour office, proof of at least 365 days of employment (or equivalent pension‑eligible periods) within the 18 months preceding registration, and regular social‑security contributions. The benefit is indexed each year to the previous year’s average consumer‑price inflation.

The changes aim to adjust the unemployment allowance to current wage and inflation levels and are part of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy’s regular review of social‑security benefits.
