Poland receives 35 additional M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks

Poland has received a new shipment of 35 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks, according to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. These tanks are manufactured by the American company General Dynamics Land Systems.

This delivery brings the total number of M1A2 SEPv3 tanks in Poland to 217 out of the 250 ordered under a 2022 contract. An additional 33 units are expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year to complete the contract.

Once all deliveries are finalized, the Polish Army will possess a total of 366 Abrams tanks. This fleet will consist of 250 modern M1A2 SEPv3 models and 116 older M1A1 variants, which were acquired to rapidly bolster armored capabilities following Poland's donations of Soviet-era, PT-91 Twardy, and Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
