Poland receives first M1110 bridge launchers to support Abrams tank fleet

Poland's Army has taken delivery of the first M1110 Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) vehicles, armored bridge launchers based on the Abrams tank chassis. The delivery, confirmed by the Polish Armament Agency in July 2026, includes eight units arriving by sea, with a total plan for 25 launchers to support a growing fleet of 366 M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tanks.

The M1110 carries an 18.3‑metre Heavy Assault Scissor Bridge capable of spanning anti‑tank ditches, channels and damaged roads. Rated at MLC 115/120, it can carry the heaviest main battle tanks, including the 70‑ton M1A2 SEPv3. Deployment takes three to five minutes, with recovery in six to ten minutes. The system operates in extreme temperatures, is transportable by C‑5 and C‑17 aircraft, and shares many components with the Abrams family, simplifying logistics and maintenance.
