Poland reports increased GDP growth and expanding food exports
Poland's economy showed strong performance in 2025, with Statistics Poland (GUS) revising GDP growth upward to 3.8 percent, exceeding previous estimates of 3.6 percent. This growth was driven by increased household consumption, which rose by 4 percent, and higher investment activity, with gross fixed capital formation increasing by 4.9 percent.
The Polish food industry is also experiencing significant momentum. Food production grew by 4.9 percent in 2025, far outpacing the EU average of 0.8 percent and surpassing growth rates in major economies like Germany, Italy, and Spain. Food exports reached 34.2 billion euros between January and July 2026.
In a boost for the poultry sector, the United Arab Emirates has lifted import restrictions on Polish poultry and eggs. The decision removes previous limitations related to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) that affected 13 Polish provinces, allowing full-country exports to this key Middle Eastern market. In 2025, Polish agri-food exports to the UAE were valued at 152 million euros.
