Poland revamps Czyste Powietrze scheme with easier grants

From 20 July 2026 the government will implement a package of reforms to the Czyste Powietrze programme, which subsidises energy‑efficient modernisation of homes. The changes relax the three‑year property‑ownership rule, allowing owners who have held a house for at least one year or acquired it through inheritance to apply. Grant amounts for insulation, windows, doors and garage doors increase by up to 10 % with new maximum caps (e.g., up to 275 zł/m² for wall insulation). The pre‑financing period for works covered by advances is extended from 120 to 180 days, and documentation can be signed by a broader range of qualified professionals. After the 2026 transition, the programme will no longer support electric heating that is not based on heat‑pump technology, shifting focus to the most efficient solutions. Officials stress that the reforms aim to reduce bureaucracy, expand eligibility and improve the programme’s environmental impact, although critics note that further measures such as a free audit bon are still pending.
