Poland introduces new rules for 'Czyste Powietrze' program from July 2026

From 20 July 2026 the Polish "Czyste Powietrze" (Clean Air) programme will operate under revised conditions. The three‑year property‑ownership requirement is lifted for applicants who inherited a house, acquired it by adverse possession, or co‑owned it for at least one year after purchasing at least 50 % of the shares from parents or grandparents.

Grant amounts for selected thermal‑modernisation works – wall insulation, windows, exterior doors and garage doors – are increased by 10 % of the eligible cost. The pre‑financing term for works covered by an advance payment is extended from 120 to 180 days, giving beneficiaries more time to complete and invoice the installation. The list of professionals authorised to certify the completion of work is broadened to include builders with appropriate construction licences, not only chimney sweeps. After the transition period the programme will no longer support electric heating systems other than heat‑pump installations.

The changes aim to make the programme, which has already funded about 22 billion zł and replaced more than 603 thousand inefficient boilers, more accessible and to encourage deeper, higher‑quality renovations that improve air quality and energy efficiency in Polish households.
