Poland: Second presidential crypto-asset bill submitted to Sejm

The Chief of the Presidential Chancellery, Zbigniew Bogucki, has announced the submission of a second presidential bill regarding the crypto-asset market to the Marshal of the Sejm. This legislative move is intended to resolve a long-standing dispute following a previous presidential veto.

Bogucki stated that the new proposal adheres to constitutional principles and prioritizes the protection of Polish investors. He criticized the current political environment, suggesting that the government and its allies have failed to utilize previous legislative opportunities effectively.

The announcement follows sharp political friction between Bogucki and the Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty. Czarzasty characterized the President's legislative move as an attempt to escape an “awkward or corrupt situation.” In response, Bogucki accused Czarzasty of employing a narrative reminiscent of communist-era propaganda, citing the Marshal's political roots in the 1980s.
