Polish cities impose road closures for major cycling races
The PZU Gran Fondo Series took place in Poznań on 5 July 2026, covering a 104‑km route through Poznań and nearby gminas. The third stage of the Tour de Pologne will cross the Lubusz region on 5 August 2026. Municipalities along the route, such as Zabór, Sulechów and Świebodzin, can compete for a share of a 50,000‑złoty prize pool by creating fan zones and decorative displays, as part of the “Tour de Lubuskie Gminy” contest.
All three events required temporary traffic restrictions and prompted drivers to use alternative routes or traffic‑information services.
