Poland sees soaring wages for skilled technicians and vocational trades

In Poland, workers without university degrees are commanding high salaries, with many job ads offering more than 10,000 zł gross per month. Mechanics, electromechanics and IT technicians top the list of the most sought‑after occupations, and experts warn that a shortage of skilled tradespeople will deepen.

Vocational courses in welding, forklift operation and excavator driving are in strong demand. Certified welders can earn 5,000–9,000 zł, with specialized TIG and energy‑sector experience fetching up to double that. Forklift operators, required to hold a UDT licence, benefit from the growth of e‑commerce logistics, while excavator operators obtain WIT certification to work on construction projects nationwide. All three programmes can be financed through public funds such as the National Training Fund, making them accessible to a broad pool of candidates.
