Poland shortlists five firms for Warsaw-Łódź high-speed rail section
Five companies or consortia have been shortlisted to participate in competitive negotiations for a section of Poland’s planned Warsaw-Łódź high-speed rail line. The project, managed by Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), focuses on a 14.3-kilometer segment between the Airport Junction and the Bolimów Junction.
Out of eight initial bidders, the shortlisted groups include the Strabag-Tym-Bud consortium, the Torpol-Mirbud-Kobylarnia consortium, the Budimex-Porr-Trakcja consortium, and the Intercor-NDI-NDI Sopot consortium. The selection process prioritized candidates with extensive experience in railway infrastructure.
The high-speed line is being designed to support travel speeds of up to 350 km/h. The winning contractor is expected to be selected and sign a contract by the fourth quarter of 2027. The scope of work includes preparing detailed technical and workshop documentation followed by the construction of the rail segment.
