Poland shows low AI adoption despite transport sector dominance
Poland is experiencing divergent economic trends in technology and logistics. According to Eurostat, Polish companies lag significantly in artificial intelligence adoption, with only 8.4% utilizing AI in 2025, compared to a 20% EU average. Experts from the Fundacja Koalicja Na Rzecz Polskich Innowacji attribute this to unorganized internal processes, a lack of technical competence, and insufficient cybersecurity measures. Only 25% of Polish enterprises report access to qualified IT staff for AI implementation.
In contrast, the Polish transport sector has established itself as a dominant force in Europe. Data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) shows that road transport in Poland moved 2.03 billion tons of cargo in 2025, an 8.8% increase from the previous year. Polish transport companies now perform 20.2% of all transport work within the European Union and hold a 32.1% share of freight transport between EU member states.
