Poland property owners face tax and inspection deadlines

Property owners in Poland face several upcoming regulatory deadlines regarding taxes and mandatory technical inspections.

The third installment of the 2026 real estate tax must be paid by September 15. Delays beyond this date will result in the automatic accrual of interest and potential administrative enforcement. Failure to report property can lead to significant fines.

Additionally, homeowners must adhere to periodic technical inspections required by the Construction Law. Gas installations and chimney ducts require annual checks, while electrical and lightning protection systems must be inspected at least every five years.

Local municipalities are also conducting inspections regarding sewage management. In regions such as Warsaw and Augustów, owners of septic tanks or private sewage treatment plants must provide documentation, such as contracts and invoices, proving regular waste removal by licensed contractors by August 31.
