Poland strengthens semiconductor ties with Taiwan through technology park and direct flight talks

Polish Deputy Minister Michał Jaros visited Taiwan to participate in SEMICON Taiwan 2026 and the Poland-Taiwan Business Forum. The visit focused on strengthening cooperation in the semiconductor sector, particularly in microelectronics and photonics, and integrating Polish companies into global semiconductor supply chains.

A major point of discussion was the development of the TEEMA technology park in Miękini, near Wrocław. This project, involving the Taiwanese association TEEMA and the technology giant Foxconn, is expected to cover up to 280 hectares and could potentially create 30,000 to 40,000 jobs. Construction is slated to begin next year.

Additionally, the visit addressed transportation links between the two regions. Deputy Minister Jaros held discussions with representatives from EVA Air regarding the establishment of direct flights between Warsaw and Taipei. He indicated that direct connectivity is becoming increasingly realistic due to growing demand and the scale of upcoming industrial investments.
