Poland protests Russian hybrid operations and provocations
Poland has issued a categorical protest to the Russian Federation following a series of hybrid operations and provocations in both Poland and Germany. The diplomatic tension follows a drone incident at Leipzig/Halle airport in Germany, which German authorities have attributed to Russia, despite reports that the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has not yet found sufficient evidence to confirm this.
During a meeting at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Polish officials expressed solidarity with Germany and condemned Russian state terrorism. The protest also addressed Russian military aircraft violating safety standards by operating near Polish airspace without identification devices, posing a threat to civil aviation.
Russian Ambassador Georgiy Mikhno rejected the accusations, describing them as “baseless, absurd, and contrary to common sense,” and stated that no evidence had been presented to support the claims. Meanwhile, Polish officials highlighted the ongoing risk of hybrid warfare, noting the need for increased investment in critical infrastructure protection, such as anti-drone systems, to safeguard energy and industrial assets.
