Poland supports potential Canadian purchase of S-70i Black Hawk helicopters

The Polish Ministry of National Defence is supporting discussions regarding a potential sale of S-70i Black Hawk helicopters produced at the PZL Mielec plant to Canada. Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State at the Ministry, confirmed this in a response to a parliamentary inquiry.

PZL Mielec, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, is the largest aircraft manufacturer in Poland and a strategic partner for the Polish defense industry. The facility currently maintains an active contract with the Polish Ministry for the delivery of S-70i helicopters intended for special operations.

While the Canadian government recently halted plans to acquire the American-made UH-60M variant due to diplomatic tensions between Ottawa and Washington, the Polish-made S-70i variant remains a subject of interest.
