Poland: Survey reveals widespread lack of knowledge regarding emergency shelters
A recent United Surveys by IBRiS poll conducted for Wirtualna Polska indicates that nearly 70% of Poles are unable to identify the nearest shelter or place of refuge in the event of a threat.
According to the data, 58.7% of respondents stated they do not know where a nearby shelter is located, while 8.4% admitted they have not taken an interest in the matter. Only 15.7% of those surveyed reported having precise knowledge of the location of the nearest life-protecting point, and 15.9% claimed to know the location only approximately.
The study, conducted between October 16 and 18, 2026, on a representative sample of 1,000 people, highlights a significant information gap regarding civil protection and emergency preparedness within the country.
