Poland: Survey shows majority support for increased defense spending
A recent survey conducted by SW Research for Dziennik Gazety Prawnej indicates that over half of the Polish population supports increasing defense spending. Specifically, 50.7 percent of respondents believe more funds should be allocated to the military, despite Poland already spending over 200 billion PLN this year, which is approximately 5 percent of its GDP.
Support for increased military funding is most pronounced among younger citizens, with 70.1 percent of those under the age of 24 favoring higher spending. In contrast, 27.5 percent of all respondents consider the current level of defense spending relative to GDP to be sufficient. Many supporters of increased spending, including 33.2 percent of respondents, condition their support on the overall stability of the state's finances.
