Poland suspends air traffic at Lublin and Rzeszów airports
Air traffic was temporarily suspended on Wednesday morning at the Lublin and Rzeszów airports in Poland due to ongoing Polish Air Force operations. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) confirmed the restrictions.
The Polish military stated that ground-based air defense systems and reconnaissance radars have been placed on high alert. These measures were taken in response to Russian missile strikes against Ukraine. Such temporary airspace restrictions in eastern Poland have become a recurring pattern during periods of intensified Russian aerial attacks on western Ukraine, allowing Polish and allied military aircraft to operate freely in the region.
Rzeszów, in particular, serves as a critical hub for military and humanitarian aid destined for Ukraine, making its operational status highly sensitive to regional security developments.
