Poland takes delivery of first M1110 JAB armored bridge kits

On 14 July 2026 the Polish Armaments Agency confirmed that eight M1110 JAB armored bridge kits arrived at the Gdańsk container port. The bridges are part of a broader procurement linked to the acquisition of U.S.‑made M1 Abrams tanks. Poland’s original contract, signed on 5 April 2022, covered 250 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks and 17 bridge kits; it was expanded in January 2023 to include additional vehicles and eight more bridges, bringing the total contract value to more than $6 billion. The armed forces ordered a total of 25 M1110 JAB bridges, with several dozen additional units scheduled for delivery by the end of the year and further deliveries planned thereafter. The M1110 JAB bridge system, built on an Abrams chassis, uses a scissor‑type HASB spanning mechanism that can be deployed in three to five minutes and supports loads up to 100 tonnes, improving the mobility of the six tank battalions assigned to the 18th Mechanized Division. The delivery accompanies other equipment such as M88A2 Hercules recovery vehicles, M1150 ABV engineer tanks and future K2PL tanks, marking a significant step in modernising Poland’s land forces.
