Poland to implement SMS alerts for fighter jet scrambles

The Polish government is developing a plan to issue SMS alerts via the Alert RCB system when fighter jets are scrambled due to security threats near the eastern border. Deputy Minister of National Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka announced that these notifications would be sent to citizens even before a potential threat enters Polish airspace.

This initiative follows lessons learned from a July incident. The General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces and the Operational Command of the Armed Forces are working with the Government Centre for Security to refine the communication flow. Additionally, the Ministry of Interior and Administration plans to launch a specialized application to support public warning efforts within the coming weeks.
