Poland to increase RTV license fee rates in 2027

The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has established new rates for the RTV license fee effective in 2027. Monthly payments for a television or radio-television set will rise to 34.50 PLN, up from 30.50 PLN in 2026. The monthly fee for radio alone will increase from 9.50 PLN to 10.80 PLN.

Discounts remain available for those who pay in advance: 3% for two months, 4% for three months, 5% for six months, and 10% for a full year. Failure to register a receiver may result in a fine equal to 30 times the monthly fee, which would amount to 1,035 PLN following the increase.

Certain groups are exempt from these fees, including individuals over 75, who are exempt automatically. Other exemptions apply to people in the first disability group, war invalids, military invalids, the blind, the deaf, and the unemployed. Additionally, individuals over 60 with pensions below half of the average wage may qualify, provided they present supporting documentation to the Polish Post.

While previous government proposals aimed to abolish the license fee by 2027 and replace it with state budget funding of at least 2.5 billion PLN annually for public media, the legislative project has stalled and was not included in the 2027 budget draft.
