Poland to reform driving license exams and vehicle regulations

Poland is implementing reforms to the driving license examination system. Starting in 2027, the Ministry of Infrastructure will remove maneuver yard tasks from the state practical exam for category B and B1 licenses.

Legislative changes followed consultations where various interest groups lobbied for different outcomes. While the maneuver yard will no longer be part of the official state exam, driving schools will still be required to maintain their own training yards due to pressure from driving school organizations.

Additionally, upcoming regulatory changes include new mandatory vehicle equipment requirements effective April 1, 2027, and a large-scale mandatory exchange of old identification documents, which officials warn could lead to significant queues at administrative offices.
