Poland to test long-range military drones via new air corridor

The Polish Armed Forces are conducting tests of domestic long-range unmanned aerial systems as part of the ‘Deep Precision Strike’ program. These tests aim to demonstrate the ability of the Polish defense industry to develop cost-effective systems capable of striking targets at significant distances, with an estimated range of approximately 1,000 km.

A special 900 km air corridor has been established to facilitate these operations, connecting the Land Forces Training Center in Nowa Dęba with the Central Air Force Training Ground near Ustka and Wicko Morskie. The corridor traverses seven voivodeships. Test flights are scheduled for September 11 and 12, operating at an altitude of approximately 1,370 meters.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk stated that the drones being tested will not be equipped with warheads. While civil unmanned aircraft are prohibited within the active zone, military authorities have assured that the operations will not impact passenger aviation. Residents in the affected areas are to be notified via the Government Security Centre.
