Poland to transfer two MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

Poland has confirmed it will transfer two MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in the near future. The decision was confirmed by Dariusz Łukowski, Director of the Strategy and Defense Planning Department at the Polish Ministry of National Defense.

Of the two aircraft, one has reached the end of its operational service life and may be used for spare parts, while the second remains flight-capable. This transfer is part of a broader military aid package estimated to be worth approximately 50 million euros.

In addition to the fighter jets, the aid package is expected to include 155mm and 152mm artillery ammunition, 20x102mm rounds for F-16 fighter jet cannons, and Piorun short-range anti-aircraft missiles. The Polish Ministry of National Defense noted that the scale of support is limited by Polish national security requirements and the resources of its armed forces, focusing on equipment being phased out of the Polish military.
