Poland to transition to winter time on October 25, 2026

In Poland, the transition from daylight saving time to winter time is scheduled for the night of Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, October 25, 2026. At 3:00 AM, clocks will be set back to 2:00 AM, providing an additional hour of sleep. Daylight saving time is expected to return in late March 2027.

While the practice was originally implemented to save energy, modern research suggests that energy savings in today's economy are negligible. Although the European Union had plans to abolish the seasonal time change, the requirement remains in effect.

Health experts warn that shifting the clock can disrupt the human biological rhythm, causing effects similar to jet lag. Potential consequences include sleep disturbances, insomnia, decreased concentration, and irritability. Vulnerable groups, such as children and seniors, may be particularly affected, and some studies indicate a temporary increase in the risk of road accidents.
