Poland to Witness Rare Blue Moon on May 31, 2026
Poland will experience a rare "Blue Moon" on 31 May 2026, the second full moon occurring in the same calendar month. The phenomenon, which typically happens about once every 2.7 years, will be visible across the country after sunset.
Astronomical experts note that this Blue Moon will also coincide with the Moon's apogee, making it a "micro‑Moon" – about 5.5 % smaller and over 10 % dimmer than an average full moon. The peak visibility is expected at 10:45 local time, though observation is best after dark. The next similar event is not expected until December 2028.
