Poland transforms historic sites in Bydgoszcz and Łódź into cultural hubs
In Bydgoszcz, the former Lloyd Factory is being renovated into a new cultural centre. The project, funded with 1.4 million zloty of which 300 thousand comes from the city’s heritage‑renovation programme, includes strengthening the historic brick walls and restoring the original façade. Work on the building’s exterior is expected to finish this year, with the venue slated to open mid‑next year.
Meanwhile, at Łódź Fabryczna railway station, the Łódzkie Dom Kultury is creating “Stacja Regionów,” a modern gallery and meeting space. The initiative, supported by the Łódź regional government and the national Ministry of Culture, will showcase regional art, multimedia exhibitions and host festivals, debates and educational events. The inaugural exhibition is planned for September.
