Poland: Two elderly men found alive after forest search operations

Two separate search operations in Poland for missing elderly men have concluded successfully.

In the first incident, a 78-year-old man from Bystrzyca Dolna went missing while mushroom picking on September 2. After more than 30 hours, he was located alive by police, firefighters, forest guards, and a search dog. The search utilized thermal imaging drones and was aided by a local resident who provided a specific location where the man had been spotted. The senior was found dehydrated and chilled.

In a separate event near Olsztyn, an 81-year-old man named Edward went missing during the night of September 1-2. He was found after three days in a difficult-to-reach forest area near Gronity, approximately 5 km from his home. Authorities reported that he was disoriented and suffering from hypothermia but was no longer in immediate danger after being handed over to medical services.
