Poland U16 basketball team secures seventh place at European Championship

The Poland U16 national basketball team secured seventh place at the European Championship Division A after defeating Romania 88:62 in their final match. This result marks the highest placement achieved by a Polish youth team in any age category at the Division A European championships since 2012.

Following a loss to Greece (84:102) in the placement rounds, the team rebounded in the seventh-place game. Led by coach Rafał Gil, the Polish squad utilized a strong defense that forced 23 turnovers from Romania and demonstrated effective teamwork with 25 assists. Key individual performances included Sebastian Petru-Lapuste, who recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists, as well as Alan Chojnacki, Alex Pietrzak, and Emilio Szewczyk.
