Czech Republic clinches U22 European volleyball title in Albufeira
The Czech men’s U22 team captured the European championship after defeating Poland 3‑1 (25‑27, 27‑25, 25‑20, 25‑13) in the final held in Albufeira, Portugal. The victory gave Czech Republic its first gold at this age level, while Poland earned silver for a historic tournament run that saw the side reach the final for the first time.
Israel secured the bronze medal with a straight‑set win over France, marking the nation’s first ever medal at any European volleyball age‑group competition. Individual awards were handed out: Václav Seidl (Czech Republic) was named MVP, while top scorer honors went to Poland’s Wojciech Gajek, and other best‑player recognitions were distributed among athletes from the Czech Republic, Poland, Israel and Portugal.
