Poland wage data shows regional gaps and debate over 2027 minimum pay

In December 2025 the median gross monthly salary in Poland was 7 907.20 zł, 19.4 % lower than the average of 9 813.30 zł. Salaries varied by up to 1 700 zł across voivodeships, with Mazovia posting the highest regional median at 8 988.56 zł, followed by Lower Silesia, Pomerania and Silesia. The public sector median was 9 857.96 zł, while the private sector median stood at 6 895 zł. Gender differences were modest: men’s median was 8 028 zł and women’s 7 783 zł. At the municipal level, Piątnica recorded a striking median of 13 100 zł, far above the national average, with Konstancin‑Jeziorna, Połaniec and Bogatynia also among the top earners.

Separately, the Federation of Polish Employers argues against a larger increase in the statutory minimum wage for 2027. The proposed rise to 4 861 zł (from 4 806 zł) reflects the inflation‑adjustment index, but employers say the minimum already exceeds 50 % of the average wage, making higher hikes unnecessary. They also warn that applying a stronger index could strain public‑sector finances and pension funding, while emphasizing the need to keep wage growth within fiscal limits.
