Poland weather forecast: storms, rain, and mountain snow
Poland is experiencing significant weather shifts characterized by a transition from mild autumn conditions to colder, more unstable atmospheric patterns. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued warnings regarding incoming low-pressure systems that will bring rain, storms, and strong winds across various regions.
In the mountains, specifically the Tatra and Sudetes ranges, snow and sleet are expected as temperatures drop near freezing. Coastal areas, particularly in Pomerania, may face thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching up to 80 km/h. Some northern regions have been placed under first-degree meteorological alerts due to the potential for intense rainfall and storms.
Long-term forecasts suggest a notable temperature shock in the latter half of October, with significant differences between the warmer west and the colder east. While some areas may still see temperatures up to 18 degrees Celsius, others will experience much lower readings, and nighttime frosts are anticipated in several parts of the country.
