Poland weather: Warm Indian summer and fog warnings expected

Poland is set to experience a period of stable, warm weather, often referred to as Indian summer, driven by a strong high-pressure system named “Arno” originating from Eastern Europe. This anticyclone is expected to bring sunny skies and a significant rise in temperatures over the upcoming weekend and into the following week.

Temperatures are forecasted to exceed 20 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, with some western and central regions potentially reaching between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius. While the daytime will be warm and mostly sunny, the transition into autumn will be marked by cool nights and significant temperature fluctuations. In mountainous regions like the Carpathians, nighttime temperatures could drop as low as 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists have issued warnings regarding dense fog and haze, particularly during the night and early morning hours. These conditions may significantly reduce visibility to between 200 and 300 meters in several regions, posing challenges for drivers. Despite the warmth, the high-pressure system may also deepen existing drought conditions by blocking precipitation for an extended period.
