Poland weather forecast predicts warm September and wet autumn

Meteorological forecasts for Poland indicate significant weather shifts across the coming months. For September, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) predicts average temperatures will remain above long-term norms across the country, accompanied by precipitation levels within historical averages.

As autumn progresses, October is expected to bring temperatures returning to normal, though southern and southeastern regions may see warmer deviations. Rainfall in October is projected to be higher than average in western areas like Poznań and Wrocław, while the rest of the country remains within normal ranges. November is forecasted to be a particularly wet month, with precipitation expected to exceed norms at all analyzed stations.

Looking toward the 2026/2027 winter season, the El Niño phenomenon is expected to play a major role. Experts suggest this could lead to a milder winter compared to previous years, though long-term projections remain subject to change based on the polar vortex and ocean energy levels.

In the immediate term, Poland faces incoming weather fronts bringing heavy rain, storms, and strong winds. Significant wind gusts are expected, particularly in the south and near the Baltic Sea, with speeds potentially reaching 80 km/h.
