Europe weather shift brings Arctic air, snow, and frost
As the astronomical autumn begins, much of Europe is experiencing a significant shift in weather patterns. Arctic air masses are moving into the continent, bringing a wave of cold temperatures and precipitation.
In the Alps, temperatures are expected to drop sharply, with local lows reaching as low as -12°C in high mountain valleys. Slovakia is also bracing for freezing temperatures, with frost warnings issued for valleys where ground temperatures could hit -5°C.
In Poland, the weather is highly variable. While some western regions may see temperatures near 20°C, much of the country faces rain, storms, and wind. The Tatra Mountains are seeing early winter conditions, including snow accumulation and a first-degree avalanche warning for areas above 1800 meters. High winds and potential snowstorms are expected in the mountain ranges.
