Poland wedding gift trends: 750 PLN identified as key threshold

A study titled ‘Ślubne prezenty Polaków. Trendy 2026’ (Wedding Gifts of Poles. 2026 Trends), conducted by UCE Research and Briju among 1,023 adults, reveals evolving social expectations regarding monetary wedding gifts in Poland.

The research identifies 750 PLN as a significant threshold. For friends and extended family, 55.8% of respondents consider 750 PLN to be the upper limit for a gift. Conversely, for witnesses and immediate family members, 62.3% of respondents view 751 PLN as the minimum acceptable amount.

Among the closest relatives and witnesses, 37.3% believe the gift should exceed 1,000 PLN, with some respondents suggesting amounts between 1,001 and 2,000 PLN or even higher. For friends and acquaintances, the most common gift ranges are 201–500 PLN and 501–750 PLN.

The study highlights the rising costs of wedding celebrations in Poland, which can range from 60,000 to 120,000 PLN or more, depending on the venue and number of guests. Experts note that while the study measures social expectations rather than actual spending, the data reflects how financial considerations have become deeply integrated into wedding customs.
