Poland weather: IMGW issues long-term winter forecasts
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has released long-term experimental weather forecasts for Poland covering the period from late 2026 through early 2027.
For the end of autumn and early winter, meteorologists predict warmer-than-average temperatures in western and southern regions, including Lubuskie, Wielkopolska, Łódzkie, and Podkarpacie. While November and December are expected to remain relatively mild with precipitation levels near historical norms, experts warn that this does not preclude short-term cold snaps or heavy snowfall.
A significant shift is anticipated in January, when weather conditions are expected to become more typically wintry. During this month, temperatures are projected to align with long-term averages, and increased precipitation is expected, particularly in northern and southern parts of the country. February may see even higher precipitation levels across the nation, potentially bringing more substantial snow cover.
