Poland winter time change scheduled for October 2026

The transition from daylight saving time to winter time in 2026 is scheduled to occur during the night of Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, October 25. At 3:00 AM, clocks will be set back to 2:00 AM, returning to Central European Time.

While the change provides an extra hour of sleep, it results in earlier darkness in the afternoons and brighter mornings. This shift can impact health by disrupting circadian rhythms, potentially leading to sleep issues, daytime drowsiness, and decreased concentration. It may also affect animals due to changes in feeding and activity schedules.

Regarding the future of time changes, current Polish regulations only cover the period through the end of 2026. Although there have been discussions within the European Union about abolishing seasonal time changes, no final decision has been reached to establish a permanent time standard across member states. If no new EU-wide solutions are adopted, Poland will need to establish its own rules for subsequent years.
