Poland's 1992 Olympic football team marks 34‑year silver medal

At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Poland's under‑23 football squad reached the final, losing 2‑3 to Spain and securing the nation's last Olympic football medal. Coached by Janusz Wójcik, the team featured top scorer Andrzej Juskowiak, who netted seven goals, as well as Wojciech Kowalczyk, Ryszard Staniek and others.

Thirty‑four years later, former players such as Dariusz Gęsior recall the disappointment of missing gold, describing the memory as a mix of pride and lingering sorrow. The anniversary highlights the historic achievement of a Polish side that has not returned to the Olympic podium since.
