Poland's barley prices dip ahead of harvest as cucumber market corrects

Barley harvests are beginning in the Wielkopolska region and farmgate prices are holding between 600‑750 PLN per tonne. The average price reported by the Wielkopolska Agricultural Chamber is 681 PLN, but higher supplies and full storage facilities are expected to push prices lower as the harvest approaches.

In the Bronisz wholesale market, cucumber prices have reversed sharply after a brief spike. Supply has rebounded, bringing greenhouse cucumber rates below 3 PLN per kilogram, while bright field cucumbers still fetch about 5‑6 PLN/kg. Dark‑skinned cucumbers under covers trade under 3 PLN/kg, reflecting lower buyer demand despite ample availability.
