Poland's central bank reports reserve assets fall to €256 billion

The National Bank of Poland (NBP) announced that at the end of July 2026 its official foreign‑exchange reserves were worth €256 billion, a decrease of €1.7 billion from June. In dollar terms the reserves rose to $295 billion, up $1.5 billion from the previous month due to exchange‑rate movements.

NBP said the bulk of the reserves are invested in highly liquid, safe government securities, with additional exposure to non‑government bonds, investment‑fund units and short‑term deposits in highly rated banks. The bank emphasised that the primary objectives of reserve management are safety, liquidity and, where possible, long‑term return, supporting Poland’s financial stability and enabling market interventions when needed.
