Poland's Cyber Defense Forces thwart 4,500 annual military cyber incidents

Major General Mariusz Chmielewski, commander of the Cyber Defense Forces Component, reported that Polish military systems face over 4,500 cyber incidents annually. These incidents represent prevented information leaks, many of which involve highly classified security data.

Chmielewski emphasized that Poland has established a cohesive cybersecurity system that integrates both military and civilian sectors. The cyber defense force, consisting of 6,500 soldiers and civilian employees, operates through information sharing and cooperation with partner institutions.

The commander noted that Poland is a significant target for cyberattacks due to its strategic position on NATO's eastern flank and its role in providing military support to Ukraine.
