Poland's domestic tourism sees rising costs and strong demand

Polish seaside municipalities have increasingly introduced fees for public toilets on the Baltic coast, citing higher water, electricity, cleaning and staffing expenses. The charges have sparked debate over access to basic services and their impact on the tourist experience.

At the same time, a new report shows that domestic travel remains the top choice for Polish vacationers. More than half (51 %) of respondents plan to spend their summer holidays within Poland, with the Baltic coast attracting the largest share (22.4 %). Active recreation, cultural sightseeing and wellness are the three most popular holiday styles, and a sizable portion of travellers are still deciding on destinations or opting for last‑minute bookings.
