Poland's Donald Tusk calls for stronger Western stance against Russia

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called on Western allies to demonstrate greater resolve against Russia, emphasizing the need for stricter measures and enhanced sanctions to halt Russian aggression. Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, Tusk highlighted that while Ukraine fights for its survival, Russia is fighting for dominance.

Tusk warned against attempts to relativize responsibility for the conflict, stating that anyone suggesting symmetry or blaming Ukraine provides a ‘valuable gift’ to Vladimir Putin. He criticized proposals for immediate ceasefires, noting that Russia responded to such ideas with attacks on energy infrastructure in Kharkiv. The Prime Minister expressed his intention to visit Brussels to advocate for strengthened sanctions ahead of the upcoming European summit.
