Poland's Future Council adopts initial long‑term development recommendations

The Future Council (Rada Przyszłości), an advisory body to the Polish Prime Minister, approved its first five recommendations for the country's long‑term development.

Key proposals focus on achieving technological sovereignty by designating it a strategic task, assessing foreign technology dependence in public projects, advancing domestic artificial‑intelligence models, and strengthening digital infrastructure. The Council also suggests concentrating funding for applied research on priority areas such as AI, space, biotechnology, quantum and dual‑use technologies, and improving coordination among research‑funding institutions.

Additional measures aim to lower barriers for scaling Polish tech firms through digitised share transactions, wider use of pilot projects in public administration, and the creation of a national AI oversight body. The recommendations call for reforms to venture‑capital financing and greater private‑capital participation to support innovative companies from research to market. Finally, the Council proposes systematic actions to protect minors online, including stronger age‑verification, default protections for under‑18 accounts, and early‑intervention mechanisms in schools.
