Poland's GDDKiA selects Przemyśl bypass route, voids Zwolenia bypass tender

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) submitted an environmental permit request for the Przemyśl bypass, proposing the 20.6‑km variant W7 as the preferred alignment. The route will start near Skołoszów, run west of national road 77 through the gminas of Radymno, Orły and Żurawica, cross DK77, skirt the north‑east of Przemyśl and finish at Hurko, linking to national road 28. The bypass is intended to divert transit, especially heavy‑truck traffic, away from the city centre, improve safety, reduce noise and emissions, and support traffic to the Polish‑Ukrainian border crossing at Medyka.

In a separate decision, GDDKiA cancelled the award of the Zwolenia bypass contract to Mostostal Warszawa. The 10‑km GP‑class road was to bypass the town on the east side. Although Mostostal submitted the lowest bid of 189.873 million zł, the agency cited the contractor’s deteriorating financial situation and the need for a new verification of all offers. A second‑priced bid from an Aldesa consortium stood at 190.7 million zł. The tender process will be reopened after a review by the Public Procurement Office.
