Poland's historic sites draw summer tourists

The Baroque palace in Kościelce, now home to the State School of Visual Arts, opened its restored interiors to visitors for a limited summer tour. Guests could explore the ballroom, former chapel, dining room and private family apartments, showcasing restored frescoes, parquet floors and ornate ceilings that blend the building's aristocratic past with contemporary art education.

In the Owl Mountains, the Walim underground tunnels—part of the unfinished World War II "Riese" project—offer a cool retreat from summer heat. About 500 metres of rock‑cut passageways are guided tours, highlighting the mysterious military complex and providing a constant 5‑7 °C micro‑climate. Both sites illustrate how Poland's heritage locations are being promoted for seasonal tourism.
