Poland's Justice Ministry launches Deregulacja 2.0 court digitisation plan

The Polish Ministry of Justice presented a reform package called Deregulacja 2.0 aimed at simplifying legislation and digitising the judiciary. Justice Minister Maciej Berek, along with officials Waldemar Żurek and Arkadiusz Myrcha, outlined measures such as e‑files, e‑rulings, e‑communication, remote hearings, e‑payments and the acceptance of electronic documents for land‑registry entries. While the government frames the initiative as a major modernisation, critics note that many proposals have been under discussion for years and represent a re‑packaging of existing drafts.

In parallel, the Katowice Court of Appeal has been highlighted as a pilot for secure digital infrastructure. The court installed over 70 Stormshield UTM devices from the French‑Airbus group across 37 units in three months, enabling global security policies, two‑factor authentication, and geolocation blocks against traffic from Russia and Belarus. The rapid rollout demonstrates how Polish courts are addressing both efficiency and cyber‑security concerns as part of the broader Deregulacja 2.0 agenda.
