Poland's KRUS announces highest farmer pension and widows' benefit rise
The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) reported that the highest pension it currently pays is 4,772.11 zł gross per month to a farmer who contributed for more than 41 years. While the amount remains lower than the top pensions issued by the general‑purpose ZUS system, it reflects the distinct contribution rules of the agricultural scheme.
Effective 1 January 2027, KRUS will automatically increase widows' pensions by raising the second component from 15 % to 25 % of the entitlement. The change can add up to about 197.85 zł per month, moving the lowest benefit from 296.77 zł to 494.62 zł, without requiring new applications from beneficiaries.
