Poland's Lednica Youth Meeting Marks 30th Anniversary

The 30th Lednica Youth Meeting took place on 6 June 2026 in the fields of Lednica, Poland, under the theme “GENESIS”, inviting participants to return to the roots of faith and vocation. Around 20,000 young people gathered for a day‑long program that included workshops on logotherapy, Caritas service, Dominican liturgy, and a Taizé‑inspired prayer session. The central celebration was a Holy Mass at the Gate of the Fish, presided over by Archbishop Wojciech Polak and Bishop Grzegorz Suchodolski, followed by a night procession through the Gate of the Third Millennium, symbolising a renewed commitment to Christ.

Organisers emphasized that the meeting is meant to be a place of decision, describing it as a “new Genesis” for the participants. The event also featured talks by Cardinal Grzegorz Rysi and Bishop Artur Ważny, as well as a procession of fire and an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Collaboration with the Taizé community added a pan‑European spiritual dimension, linking the Polish gathering to the upcoming European Taizé Youth Meeting in Łódź.

The celebration highlighted the continued importance of the Lednica tradition within Poland’s Catholic youth and underscored its role in fostering communal prayer, personal discernment, and cultural continuity.
